Emerge Nevada is thrilled to announce Kelli Kelly as our new Board President for the 2022-2024 Board of Directors! Kelli previously served as the Vice-President and Secretary of the Board for the 2020-2022 term, and is a Class of 2019 alumna. She also chairs Emerge Nevada’s Recruitment, Nomination and Selection Committee.
Kelli is Executive Director of the Fallon Food Hub, serves on the Governor’s Council for Food Security, and is on the frontlines for expanding food access to our most vulnerable Nevadans, particularly in rural areas. She focuses on increasing market opportunities for agricultural producers by distributing their produce and educating others about the importance of purchasing from local businesses. She has worked with local and state leaders, including helping to organize and participate in the Nevada Recovers Tour with Nevada State Treasurer Zach Conine, where they discussed with local producers how issues with food production and distribution could be addressed through additional funding streams and policies.
Additionally, as Chairwoman of the Library Board of Trustees for Churchill County, Kelli has been involved in strategic planning to expand their library.
In 2020, Nevadans were hit hard by the pandemic. With nearly one-third of the state unemployed, Kelli stepped up as part of the Food Security Coalition of Northern Nevada that contributed to two million pounds of food being distributed to Nevadans in need.
When Kelli isn’t busy leading the Fallon Food Hub and Emerge Nevada, she enjoys cooking and sharing her delicious recipes with others in the community. You can find her artisanal recipes published in the Fallon Post – she’ll be happy to hear what you made!
Kelli’s profession is to be of service to others, which is evident by the way she strategies on how to bring more folks to the table to ensure all perspectives are being heard. Her innovative ideas, background in policy, and forward-thinking planning experience will be crucial for guiding Emerge Nevada.
