Applications for the Class of 2024 will open on September 1, 2023.
Who Should Apply?
Emerge Nevada seeks Democratic women and non-binary folks who are committed to effective political leadership, are interested in or plan to run for elected office, and who have:
- Evidence of political leadership experience or potential, and meaningful involvement in workplace or community;
- Plan to run for office within the next 5 years;
- Ability and desire to build effective networks;
- Ability to articulate a personal political vision;
- Commitment to full participation and attendance requirements of the training.
- Applicants must be Democrats who reside in the state of Nevada and identify as women or non-binary.
Emerge Nevada will select 20-25 women from across the state who meet the above criteria and who we believe to have the potential to be political leaders.
Emerge embraces diversity and encourages applications from all women regardless of age, race, color, national or ethnic origin, marital status, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, socio-economic status or physical ability. Our mission to build the bench of Democratic women ready to run for office acknowledges both systemic and historic barriers to running for office as well as the barriers women impose on themselves.
Online applications are being evaluated by a selection committee and qualified applicants will be invited to a virtual interview.
Time Commitment
The success of the Emerge Nevada program depends upon commitment to the program’s entire schedule by each participant. Over the six months, approximately 70 program hours are scheduled. Some time outside of regularly scheduled training will be necessary for homework, volunteer work and training preparation. While emergencies sometimes arise, attendance at the first and last day of training is mandatory and absence for any reason will result in a deferral to the following year.

Application Fee
A non-refundable application fee of $50 is required and must be submitted along with a completed application.
Interviews
Emerge Nevada will review completed online applications and select finalists for virtual interviews. Finalists will be invited to attend an interview with the selection committee beginning in November by Zoom video conference.
Class of 2024 interview dates and times will be scheduled on an individual basis with each applicant.
Tuition
Participation in the Emerge Nevada program requires tuition of $500. There is another obligation to be raised through each program member’s fundraising efforts.
Financial need should not be a barrier to applying to the program. Financial assistance may be discussed after admission to the program.
