Emerge Nevada Opens Applications for Class of 2023

LAS VEGAS – Today, Emerge Nevada, the state’s leading candidate training program for Democratic women and non-binary Nevadans, opened applications for the Class of 2023.

Emerge’s 70-hour, six-month training is the leading program that inspires candidates to run and gives them the tools to win. Class members are trained on topics such as campaign planning, budgeting, fundraising, communications, field organizing, public speaking, and ethical leadership. Since its founding in 2006, Emerge Nevada has trained over 300 women and non-binary Nevadans, including 35 currently in office.

“Representation up and down the ballot matters,” said Danna Lovell, Executive Director of Emerge Nevada. “As a state with growing populations of the New American Majority, we are intentional about recruiting women who can authentically serve their communities and whose voices have been left out of the conversation for too long. We are proud to continue recruiting Democratic women to win office and change the scales of power in Nevada.”

Emerge Nevada is seeking dedicated, driven and dynamic women and non-binary Nevadans who are ready to reshape Nevada politics. Applications and nominations for the Class of 2023 will be accepted on a rolling basis through November 30, 2022. To be considered, applicants must complete an online application and submit two letters of recommendation as well as a resume.

Emerge Nevada is committed to identifying, recruiting, training and mentoring self-identifying Democratic women and non-binary people from the New American Majority — Black, Brown and Indigenous women, women and non-binary people of color, as well as LGBTQ+, young, and unmarried women — who represent a growing share of our population and the nation’s electorate yet remain underrepresented in government.

In the 2022 primary election, 13 out of 19 Emerge alumni advanced in their races to the general election in November. These candidates represent the unique diversity of Nevada, coming from the different communities, backgrounds, and identities that make up the state. 27 Emerge Nevada alumni will be on November’s ballot.
