Jones grew up in Hawthorne, Nevada, and graduated from William S. Boyd School of Law. She started her career as a Clark County Public Defender, later moved on to a prosecuting career at the Nye County District Attorney’s Office, before working at the Clark County District Attorney’s Office. After being appointed in 2017, she became the first African American woman to serve on the District Court in Nevada, where her case assignments include both criminal and civil cases. She mentors young law students through the National Bar Association and volunteers as a judge and coach for mock trial and moot court.
