Upon graduating from American University, Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C, Monica moved to Las Vegas to begin her law career as an attorney with the Clark County Public Defender’s Office. As a practicing attorney in that office, she represented adult indigent clients charged with misdemeanors, gross misdemeanors and felonies through all phases of the criminal justice process. Monica has litigated all types of cases, including theft, burglary, robbery, possession of scheduled drugs, sexual assault and murder. In February of 2013, Monica transferred to the Clark County Special Public Defender’s Office, where she has since been working, to focus on the most serious and challenging cases in our criminal justice system: capital and non-capital murder cases.
