Kali Fox Miller

Kali Fox Miller is an experienced attorney, dedicated public servant, and an education advocate for people of all ages.

Kali was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Her father, Elburt, was a small business owner and former UNLV basketball star who still ranks 12th on the all time scoring list.  Her mother Kathy was also born and raised in Las Vegas and is a retired real estate agent and public servant.  Kali’s parents worked incredibly hard to provide her with every educational opportunity possible starting with college posters in her nursery.  This instilled a love of learning and passion for education advocacy in Kali which gave her the motivation to advocate for the education of all who seek to improve their lives.

Kali attended and graduated from the Advanced Technologies Academy in 1999 where she majored in Computer Science.  When she was 15, Kali began her first job tutoring children after school at Variety Day School, the same day care she attended as a young child. During her senior year, Kali was granted admission into the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA. She accepted and during her time in college Kali resumed tutoring young children and eventually became a tutor coordinator for the All Kids Count program where she worked part-time until she graduated in 2003.

In 2005, Kali was admitted to the William S. Boyd School of Law part-time evening program.  Immediately after, she began her first job with the State of Nevada as a Tax Examiner at the Department of Taxation.  During her time in law school Kali was a member of the Black Law Students Association (BLSA), Phi Alpha Delta, class representative on the Student Bar Association, and president and founding member of the Organization of Part-Time and Non-Traditional Law Students Association (OPLS). Kali graduated from Boyd with a Juris Doctorate in 2009.

After briefly working in private civil practice, Kali joined the Nevada Office of the Attorney General as a Deputy AG for the Mortgage Lending Division where she helped to protect consumers during the height of the housing crisis.  Kali also assisted as board counsel for boards and commissions periodically.  Before leaving the AG’s office, she also practiced Civil Rights law as a Deputy AG for the Department of Corrections.

Currently, Kali is in house counsel for a national corporation.  She sits on several local boards in our community, all of which have a deep emphasis on education.  She also is the founder of the Girls to Pearls Foundation which helps to provide funding for three local youth groups for girls aged 4 – 18 and prenatal services to women who are expecting. Throughout her years as an attorney, Kali has never stopped in her fight for the right to education, justice and opportunity for all.
