Fikisha is a graduate of Howard University and Tulane University Law School, where she studied under Supreme Court Justice Rhenquist. During her time in the Nashville Public Defenders office, she was unanimously selection by the elected judiciary to serve as General Sessions Commissioner, a night court magistrate, with the duties of setting bail, issuing search warrants, issuing orders of protections, and competency findings. From the bench, she reaped experience in the judiciary role and learned how to find a balance between the litigants, the community, and the law. Fikisha currently serves in the Las Vegas Public Defenders office.
